How many pallet racks do you need?
It all comes down to two things: the size of your warehouse and the number of pallet positions you’re trying to hit. Every warehouse has different ceiling heights, forklift types, aisle widths, and fire-code requirements, so there’s no universal number of racks that works for everyone. The goal is to design a layout that maximizes usable storage while keeping traffic flow, dock doors, staging areas, and safety clearances in the right balance.
The fastest way to figure out what you need is to reverse-engineer your target pallet count. Once we know your ideal capacity and a few key measurements, we can calculate the upright height, beam spacing, number of bays, and overall layout that fits your building. Some warehouses emphasize density, others prioritize fast movement or dedicated pick lanes. Contact us to set up a visit so we can design a warehouse layout that works for you!
